Christmas time is here, in time for Small Business Saturday and Sunday’s Open House

November 25, 2011

Starting today we are open for business 7 days a week through December 24. Weekdays 9-9, Saturdays and Sundays 9-7.

Construction of the new farmstand is still ongoing, and as such things will look a bit different to you, even on a daily basis. Thanks for bearing with us as we get the parking lot paved this weekend, and

This is how mornings start on tree days. The good news is that when complete, there is no ladder needed to get back down.

just be prepared to be creative and patient as we work to make room for our construction crew, our Christmas crew and of course you.

Last weekend we had our tree deliveries. 3 and a half trucks over 4 days, plus a few more here and there. We are pleased to offer fragrant Balsam Fir and needle-retentive Frasier Fir in wide variety of shapes and sizes from 2 feet to 12, and more.

The bulk of our trees come from farmers we have known for decades in New Brunswick. This year we are also pleased to have a small selection of Scotch pines, live and potted Colorado Blue and Dwarf Alberta Spruce, and some North Carolina grown Frasier Fir. We got a few of thee last year and were very pleased with the quality, so we brought in more this year just to give you another option.

We are also pleased to have more “Fralsam” trees this year. This silver-blue premium tree has been growing in popularity as combining the look and lasting ability of Frasiers with the fragrance of Balsams.

Another load of trees awaiting unloading.

We are a full service tree sales force. We give your tree a fresh-cut, carry it to your vehicle, and tie it down with our own twine as part of our service. For a small charge, we will wrap the tree in netting to help you fit it through your home and to aid in carrying.

Our walls and tables in the greenhouse are packed with wreaths as well. All sizes are available plain and decorated up to 48″ diameter. We have many types of roping and garland to choose from for your lamppost, mantle or doorway. We usually assume 6′ for a mantlepiece, 15′ to wrap a lamppost or a single door, 30′ for a larger door.

Even if you feel you aren’t quite ready to dive fully into the holidays yet, consider stopping in this weekend to get a feel for what is new in decorating this year. Join us for a little local shopping this Small Business Saturday or come by for our special Sunday Evening Open House, when Santa will even be around.

Teri sent out an email about it earlier this week, the highlights of which are below. But it never hurts to make sure you are getting our emails to stay updated. Send an email to info@volantefarms.com and we will be sure to add you to the list.
