Corn Festival This Weekend!
Long time no blog! My apologies.
This Saturday is our annual Corn Festival from 10am until 4pm. If you didn’t receive our email about this, sign up by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to stay in the loop! The Corn Festival is one of our most loved events – who doesn’t love a free sample of our homegrown sweet corn hot out of the pot? We’ll start boiling at 10am so come keep us company under the tent!
As if that wasn’t enough… Linda from T’ART will be here again sampling out her delicious homemade treats! Stop by and talk to her about how she got started – it’s inspiring! She will be making tarts with Mass. Grown Methley Plums and Peaches as well as our Homegrown Blueberries! It’s a quick and easy recipe that will impress your family and friends instantly!
Next Saturday (August 13th) we will be hosting our 6th Annual Farm Field Day complete with a Farewell to our Farmstand.
We’ll kick things off in the morning with our first Farm Field Tour starting at 10am, and then another at 12 noon and 2pm as well!
At 11am is the highly-anticipated CUSTOMER COOKING CONTEST which will take place under our tent as curiosity mounts and hearts race in anticipation of this year’s crowned winner! Our local celebrity judges this year consist of Head Chef Robert of Spiga Restaurant, Head Chef Vanessa from Center Cafe and one of last year’s contest winners Doug Motchok – so be sure to come ready to impress their experienced palates!

1. Recipe must contain Volante Farms Homegrown fruit or vegetables
2. Contestant must bring enough of recipe for 4 judges to sample
3. Contestant must bring a copy of their recipe
also, make sure your entry is here by 11am sharp!

First Place – over $200 in GIFT CARDS to local restaurants/shops – WOW! (and bragging rights, of course!)
Second Place – over $50 in GIFT CARDS!
Everyone who participates gets a 10% off coupon good for the whole day!

least get 10% off all your purchases that day!

The second part to next Saturday’s event is a more nostalgic one. We will be saying Farewell to our beloved Farmstand that has served us well for 30 years!
We will be reminiscing about years gone by and getting excited for the new step we are taking. As a matter of fact, we will have Crescent Ridge Ice Cream to taste as a look ahead to what we will be selling in the new stand! The weekend of the 13th will be the last weekend in which we will operate out of our current farmstand. Since construction is moving along nicely, we have to vacate our retail stand to make room for our new stand. Demolition day is scheduled for soon after next weekend, so pay your respects with us on Saturday the 13th.
But DON’T WORRY! We’ll be moving all produce operations to Bay 2 of our eco-friendly greenhouse which is fully-equipped with shade curtains and sun umbrellas to provide for a cool (and unique!) shopping experience. We will remain open offering all our usual produce, baked goods, etc. until our usual closing date of October 31st. Then, next spring will be here before you know it when we will open our brand new post and beam farmstand. The best part? We will then be open YEAR-ROUND! Woo hoo!
