Field Update

April 24, 2009

Just like we planned, we just finished covering the corn this morning. With the inch and a half of rain earler this week, the seeds are already swelling and sending out taproots. we may see it spiking above ground by the end of this heat wave weekend! When you drive by the home field now you will see the similar cover floating over the bean and pea crops, and if we get the chance we are going to try and get the winter mulch off the strawberries so they can take advantage of the heat as well. Hope we see you out here this weekend!

Lets sun and rain in; keeps the heat from getting out!
Greening up nicely under their winter salt-marsh hay cover. Letting them breathe a bit finally!
